MudCreek Software has produced a
special FREE version of GENViewer version 1 to be used
on CD-ROMs. This version is perfect for individuals that want to
create family genealogy CDs and require a method to allow others to view
their family information. Also, this version can be used by
genealogy societies that want to publish genealogy information for society
members.
This version of GENViewer does NOT require a license and is free to anyone purchasing the regular version of
GENViewer is not required. Update History.
Special CD-ROM Version Features

This version of GENViewer can
automatically load a genealogy file at start-up from the CD-ROM.

The program is very small –
only adds 700KB to the CD-ROM.

GENViewer is not installed
on the computer viewing the CD-ROM and no files created by GENViewer are left on the
computer's hard drive.
Features not supported in this CD-ROM version of GENViewer

This program can only be
run from a CD-ROM.

It can read GEDCOM,
PAF, TMG RootsMagic and FTW files from a CD-ROM. Note that Legacy files can not be read from the
CD-ROM.

The feature to create Self-Viewing GEDCOM files has been removed.

The feature to export islands from a GEDCOM file has been removed.
