GENMatcher compares two genealogy files for matches, or one genealogy file for duplicates. It quickly finds matches between genealogy files. This allows you to quickly test downloaded files for potential matches to your data.
Supports the following genealogy file formats.
A session is used to save all of the comparison options between two files. This dialog box allows you see all of your sessions. You can create, edit and delete sessions.
A matching session can be between two files, or you can search for matches within one file.
This is the second step in creating a session where you can select the genealogy files that you want to compare for possible matches.
After selecting which files you want to compare, the last step in creating a new session is to choice how you want GENMatcher to compare them. The options with the light green background color indicates that you want to use that option in your comparisons.
All of these options can be changed at any time from the main screen of the program.
The general tab will display file information and submitter/owner details of each file in a session.
The Individual detail tab displays all of the events for each person in a possible match. The colors used in the tab are:
|Green||The information for an event is the same for both individuals|
|Yellow||There isn't a matching event between the individuals|
|Red||This indicates a parshall match where there is a small difference|
The family tab displays family details such as husband and wife and their parents. The children of each family is displayed in a list grid.
This tab displays the pedigrees of each individual.
This last tab displays the descendants of each individual.
